To support the Toronto Blue Jays in their first playoff run in 22 years, and to give everyone the opportunity to watch the action, the City of Toronto will broadcast the upcoming games on a large screen on the stage in Nathan Phillips Square, fondly being referred to as the #BirdsNest on social networks.
It’s an exciting time for Toronto. Let’s #cometogether and cheer on our Blue Jays at Nathan Phillips Square. See you in the #BirdsNest!
The first two home games take place in the afternoon on Thursday, October 8 at 3:30 p.m. and Friday, October 9 at 12:30 p.m. Food trucks will be on the Square to give viewers a stadium-like experience.
Mayor Tory was joined by Toronto City Council and ACE, the Blue Jays’ mascot, to raise the Blue Jays flag on the Podium Roof at City Hall to kick off the 2015 playoff action.
Details about subsequent games will be shared closer to the date of the games.
