Scarborough, Ontario – Everyone will have something to smile about on Sunday, October 25 when Sheppard Village Dental opens their doors to provide free dental care for those in need. From the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Dr. Brach and his team guarantee to see at least 50 patients over the age of 18, offering a free dental cleaning, extraction, or filling.
Going the Extra Smile builds on the overwhelming success of last year. The first patient, James, arrived at 3:00 a.m., eagerly waiting for relief from months of pain and the stress of being unable to afford proper dental care.
“I was coming from far away and wanted to start lining up as early as possible. I took the very last bus to the area and spent the night in a 24 hour McDonald’s to try and be first in line” said James. “Treatment was such a relief. A burden was lifted off my shoulders.”
The crowd soon grew and by the end of the day more than 60 patients received over $16,000 worth of free dental treatment.
“We were so energized by the gratitude of the patients that we were ready to keep going!” said Dr. Brach. “Making it an annual event was unanimous.”
Sheppard Village Dental is ready to treat as many patients as possible on October 25.
“There are a lot of people out there that need our help. This is our opportunity to answer the call and give back to our community” said Dr. Brach.
