The City of Toronto has conducted a study to evaluate options for a grade separation between Steeles Avenue East and the Stouffville Go Transit Rail Corridor (east of Kennedy Road) and has recommended the following:
- replace the level crossing of Steeles Avenue East and the railway tracks with an underpass/road under rail
- widen Steeles Avenue East from 4 lanes to 6 lanes between Redlea Avenue and Midland Avenue
- incorporate cycling facilities on Steeles Avenue East from Kelvin Grove Avenue to Midland Avenue
- improve pedestrian facilities
