Multi-Tenant House (MTH) Zoning Approach Public Consultation

The City of Toronto has begun the second phase of the study on Multi-Tenant House Zoning Approach. Previously known as the Rooming House review, the Multi-Tenant House Zoning Approach is proposing a 3-year pilot project which will introduce a temporary zoning by-law to allow multi-tenant houses in 5 selected areas of the city where they are currently not permitted – Scarborough is one of the area. Multi-Tenant houses are currently unlicensed in Scarborough, North York and parts of Etobicoke. The area proposed for the temporary use by-law is: Steeles Ave., Highway 404, Highway 401, Markham Rd, which encompass most of Ward 39, 40, 41 and some of the adjoining wards.
